You’d think turning into a raccoon at midnight would be the worst part of my day.
But no, that would be the fact that I lost my pants in the dumpster behind Rizzo’s Pizza.
Again.
“You’ve got to get this under control,” Lena said, tossing me a pair of sweatpants from her trunk like this was normal.
I shifted back, bones cracking, fur receding, dignity nowhere in sight.
“It’s a curse, not a feature.”
“You said you were working on it.”
“I was! I hired a warlock on Fiverr.”
She gave me a look like I’d just licked a battery.
“You’re going to die, Vin,” she sighed.
“Yeah, but not in these pants.”
I tugged them on and tried not to think about tomorrow’s full moon.
