The surprise ending I should have seen. Not sure how that gets pulled off, but I suspect it can be done. The writing is brisk and the pace moves the reader along without concept of time. I like that. While some characters were not as fully fucked as they wanted. Characters that should arc. do, and ones that should die, die. I found the characters believable and real, reacting in situations like my neighbor would, instead of being all heroes.Not much qualified here as bad. The writer obviously kn

Denzell had gone to look for himself when he got the call. He really didn’t know why he had done that. Gone to see something that wasn’t there anymore. Yup, sure enough, there it wasn’t. Just the clean patch of wall that outlined where it had been, like chalk markings around a corpse. Denzell chuckled at the urge to take crime scene pictures. Well, he wasn’t going to launch some major investigation into the theft of an appliance that he could replace for a couple hundred bucks. He had better things to do with his time. Besides, he was fairly certain he could find a replacement in the service shed by the therapeutic pool.
